KENINGAU (17 SEPTEMBER 2017) – The eleventh series for the Jelajah YaHijau Sabah program was held in Padang Bandaran Keningau, Keningau, Sabah. Organized by YaHijau, this program was in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), the District Office of Keningau and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC).
This third series is quite unique, as it was the effective result of combining two programs held in Keningau into one event. Through this joint venture, the ‘Program Voluntourism Gegar Keningau and Jelajah YaHijau Sabah Siri Ketiga: Keningau’ in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2017 was officiated by The Honorable Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah / Minister of Infrastructure Development, Sabah and Member of Parliament P.180 Keningau.
The ‘Voluntourism Gegar Keningau and Jelajah YaHijau Sabah Siri Ketiga: Keningau’ Program in conjunction with Malaysia Day’ was held during a 4-day event from 14 – 17 September 2017. Various fun activities were held for the public, such as: community sports, Battle of the Bands, Gegar Keningau Concert, modern dance and singing competitions and so on.
Present at the program were The Honorable Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, The Honorable Datuk Haji Sairin Bin Haji Karno, Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Sabah and State Legislative Assembly Member N34 Liawan, Mr. Haji Yusop bin Haji Osman, District Officer of Keningau and Mr. Amin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Hijau Malaysia.
