KUDAT (15 JULY 2017) – HE Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) has officiated the ninth series of the Jelajah YaHijau Sabah Program in Kampung Radtak Hall, Matunggong, Kudat, Sabah. The program was attended by an estimate of 1,000 people and the activities held were assisted by 27 communities around the district of Matunggong.
The Jelajah YaHijau Sabah program was organized by Yayasan Hijau Malaysia (YaHijau) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA). This year, the theme for the program is, “Celebrating Unity Through Green” and aims to promote awareness and educating the public, especially youth, about the importance of adopting green lifestyles and introducing them to the applications of green technology. This is the second year of the Jelajah YaHijau Program, which was first held last year in 8 locations across Sarawak and with more than 9,000 participants.
This year, Tenaga Nasional Berhad is also working with YaHijau as its main strategic partner, supported by the Department of National Unity and Integration for the success of the Jelajah YaHijau Sabah program.
Also present at the program were Ms. Delin Liet Blaun, Director of Department of National Unity and Integration in Sabah, Mr. Bianus Kontong, Assistant District Officer of Matunggong, Mr. Amin bin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Hijau Malaysia and Datuk Ir Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Amin, Senior General Manager, Corporate Affairs & Corporate Communications Group, Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
